Before & after: Strict reno budget produces amazing result
Located in Yokine, this two-bedroom, one bathroom unit was renovated for sale by a savvy owner who achieved a fabulous return on her investment. Purchased for 270k, after spending 29k on it, we sold it recently for 380k.
Throughout the renovation process, the owner focussed on finding on-trend items that were reasonably priced. All in all, the renovation produced a fabulous result.

The dated unit was overhauled with new flooring, lighting, paint, window treatments, tiling, door handles and more. The owner was able to keep costs down by doing a lot of the work herself, making small changes where she might have preferred to make larger ones and by sticking to a super strict budget.

The main living space is unrecognisable and that’s despite the owner resisting the urge to gyprock, or paint, the exposed brick wall. Instead, the wall was re-grouted and while it was a painstaking job, it sure did pay off.

AFTER dining. The brick wall is now a feature of the living area.
The kitchen was overhauled with internal cabinetry from Bunnings combined with custom made cupboard fronts. The tiles, imitation polished concrete, were a bargain picked up from an Osborne Park tile shop.

The bathroom also underwent an incredible transformation, courtesy of new tiles, stylish brass tapware and a new timber vanity. After an exhaustive search, the owner found inexpensive terrazzo-look floor tiles for the bathroom floor and all the hardware was sourced from Highgrove Bathrooms in Osborne Park.

When it came to the outside, fresh lawn was laid instead of establishing an entire garden. I’m sure you’d agree, it’s an impressive result!
