COVID-19 sales challenge: How we sold a Perth home for an interstate seller

With WA borders closed to visitors from many Australian states, we’ve presided over the sale of several properties on behalf of interstate sellers of late. And while it may sound like a logistical nightmare, our involvement in the process ensured the experience was a seamless one for our sellers.

We assisted a Melbourne seller, who is currently in lockdown, with the sale of his Cloverdale investment property. Said property was tenanted and in a state of disrepair and, while the owners had been self-managing the property, they were unable to come back to carry out their final vacate inspection due to COVID-19 border constraints.

In the first instance, we were able to put them in touch with a company that completed a report that documented the condition of the home. We then used this information to carve out a maintenance strategy.

First up, we put the sellers in touch with a company that carried out a deep clean of the property. Following this, fresh lawn and landscaping was installed before our sellers engaged a handy man to fix a few minor items that had been damaged during the tenancy.

With the home looking rather pristine, especially compared to when we first laid eyes on it, we then got to work staging the property before having it photographed. Incredibly, after just two home opens, the property had several offers and sold within the first weekend for a record price – an outstanding result by anyone’s measure!

We recently helped sell this Cloverdale property for a couple based in Melbourne
